Background Info
Trina Achando was born on 28th August 2017 in Nakuru County, Kenya. She is the second child of Josephine Ayieko. Josephine is 34 years old. She is a mother of two children, Trina Achando and Trace Angel.
Josephine grew up in the Western part of Kenya. She came from a large family comprising of her father, his three wives, and many children. The large family struggled to make ends meet on a small farm. The food harvested from the farm was barely enough for all of them. Poverty became a basis of constant conflicts in the family. The co-wives and step-siblings would argue many times making the home uncomfortable. There was barely any money to get food so her education was halted when she was just in primary school. Josephine yearned for a better life.
Josephine (Trina’s mother) moved to Nakuru County to help out an ailing relative. She met Trina’s father was excited to start a family with him. They got into an informal union that resulted to the birth of Trina and her elder brother. Trina’s parents were casual labourers who relied on random jobs. They combined what they got to provide for the family. Unknown to her, Trina’s father had other romantic relationships with different women. Trina’s father would neglect his family and spend his little money on these other relationships. This angered Josephine who felt overwhelmed with taking care of the children alone. Trina’s father would become violent every time Josephine inquired about his inability to help provide for the family.
Josephine had to walk out of the relationship with the children. Josephine rented a small room in the slum where she has been living with Trina and her brother. Trina would wait at home under the care of her brother as her mother went looking for casual jobs. These casual jobs were not guaranteed and sometimes Josephine would go back home empty handed. On occasions when she got some work, the pay was far too little to cover their rent, food, and clothing. Trina was not enrolled in school because her mother could not afford the school supplies and fee
