Background Info
Rose Magure was born on 15th May 2015. she was born in Nakuru County, Kenya. Rose is the 5th child of Mary Wanjiru. Rose lives with her mother and siblings in Kwa-Rhonda slum, Nakuru County.
Rose's Mother Mary is a drunkard and employed. She barely get enough time and money to to take care of her six children. The younger child has special needs (Albinism) hence in need of care. Rose's mother became more depressed after Rose's father (Vincent) became unable to support the family and later abandoned them. Rose's parents met while working as casual labourers in Nakuru town They are both uneducated, so the they could not get well-paying jobs. They became overwhelmed when they got more and more children. Rose's father later became and alcoholic and irresponsible.
Living in the slum with an alcoholic parent is a big problem for Rose. Rose’s mother does casual jobs but she is not productive because of alcoholism. As a result of the problem’s in the home, Rose’s elder sister eloped with a man and gave birth to an albino child and was then sent away. Rose’s mother now has two special needs children under her roof whose medical requirements cannot be met.
Edgel mission visited Rose’s home and noted their financial struggles. We assessed the family and considered them in need of support. Rose was admitted to Prince of Peace in 2020. She is hard-working and enthusiastic
