Background Info

Isaac Gathu was born in Njoro, Nakuru County on the 6th of May, 2015. He is the last born in the family of five. He has two brothers and two sisters. The brothers are Martin Gicheru, 19 and Hezron Gikonyo, 7. Martin is a child with special needs. The sisters are Eunice Wangari, 22 and Irene Njeri, 12. His mother is Zipporah Wangui aged 39 years and his father is Daniel Muroki.

When Zipporah got married to Daniel, she already had Eunice and Martin. In their marriage they were blessed with three children; Irene, Hezron and Isaac.

One and a half years after the birth of Isaac, Daniel became violent to his wife. He would beat her in front of the children. Zipporah could not bear the humiliation and therefore decided to go back to her parents in Nyahururu, Kenya. She stayed there for one month helping her parents with home duties while taking care of her children.

She was later hired in a bakery in Rhonda, where she used to wash kitchen utensils. This prompted her to rent her own house since she was earning some money. With time, Zipporah developed health complications as a result of the cold water she was constantly exposed to at work. She had to quit.

Isaac’s mother resorted to becoming a casual labourer. She cleans and washes houses in the area in order to make a living. She cannot raise and educate her children because she is the only provider in the family.

Isaac joined Prince of Peace School in the year 2019 after profiling their home. He is currently in pre-primary two. He is friendly, determined and well-mannered.
