Background Info
Bravin Junior was born in Naivasha County in the year 2014. He is the second Child of Mercy Onyango. Mercy has four children. They are Fiona, Bravin, Salet and one-year-old Job. Mercy hails from Migori County. She comes from a very poor family. They could not afford her education, so she did not attend school.
Her mother was always struggling to find casual jobs around the village. She had no one to give her the right direction in life. Mercy got her first Child Fiona when she was a teenager. The man responsible did not want to be associated with the pregnancy.
Mercy decided to leave the Child at home and look for work to support her mother. She moved to Naivasha town. Finding work was still hard for her because she was uneducated. She met a man who promised to host her before she found a job. They developed a romantic relationship. Mercy ended up pregnant with Bravin Junior. The man became hostile to her and would starve and beat her. Mercy endured all this because she had nowhere to go. She later got pregnant with Charlotte. The abuse from her husband continued and got worse. He started cheating with other women that Mercy knew.
On one occasion, the man brought a woman into their marital home. Mercy felt that this was enough and moved out. She discovered that she was pregnant again but decided to live alone. She gave birth to Job in 2020. Mercy later moved to Nakuru in order to get a job so that she could take care of her children. She worked as a cook in a hotel, but she later left due to health problems. She now works as a casual labourer. The only she can land is by working as a maid in people's houses. Her income cannot satisfy the needs of her family. She depends on family and friends to feed her children. Her extended family is also poor, so she does not get much help. The children often spend the whole day hungry and might also sleep hungry. Bravin was admitted to Prince of Peace School in 2019 after an assessment of their home. He is currently in Pre-primary one. He is well-mannered and friendly.
