Background Info
Faith Wambui was born in Bahati, Nakuru sub-county. Faith is the second last born of John Wahuria and Naomi Waithera’s three children. Faith was born in 2014, 8th of August. Her three siblings include Samuel Kamau, Elizabeth Wanjiru and Bilha Njambi.
Naomi and her 40-year old husband John, met at a church in Nakuru. Naomi was in the youth group as well as John. They got married in 2005, just months after meeting. They both settled in Nakuru. In 2006, the couple was blessed with their first child. It was during this time that John became an alcoholic and abusive in the marriage. Ruth had to go back to the village as a result. She stayed with her parents for a while. Later on, they both decided to get back together. It was during this time of reunion that Faith was born.
They got on well until John decided to go back to his initial behaviour. This time he even acquired a concubine who later became his second wife. This lady became predominant in the relationship. She withdrew John’s attention completely from his initial wife and children. Naomi decided to do life alone.
She started hawking Liquid soap from door to door. It is in the village that she is introduced to the business of hawking liquid soap. This she did to provide for her three children. Faith being the eldest daughter, had numerous responsibilities beyond her age. She would help her mother with the house chores. And since her mother was not always at home, she would many times perform these duties alone. Faith has had a tough life growing up and still is.
Faith Wambui joined Prince of peace School in 2019 after conducting field research in her home. She is in pre-primary 2. Faith is a determined and exciting young girl.
