Background Info
Kevin Momanyi was born in Nakuru County in the year 2014. He resides in Rhonda Ward. He is the first born child of Teresia Aricha.
Teresia got married at the age of 15 years. She abandoned Kevin at just one year. She left him with his father leaving no trace of her whereabouts. Kevin’s father, John Okidi, took him to his aunt and elderly grandmother.
Kevin is currently living with his grandmother and aunt (Anna Ayuma). Both of these are seasoned drunkards. Anna Ayuma has a daughter called Angeline Mukonyo. Angeline is also a beneficiary at Edgel.
Kevin's father was imprisoned after an altercation where he hurt another man with a panga. He was sentenced to 6 years in prison.Kevin's grandmother does casual work to support her many dependents. She washes clothes for people around the elegant estates of Nakuru
Anna, on the other hand, does not have any job. She is known to be wandering around the Rhonda slums. She frequents the alcohol dens. Anna is also known to be a prostitute. However, the money she gets from this 'job' often gets depleted in the alcohol dens.
Such an environment is traumatizing to both children. They are often forced to keep up with the noises from their drunk guardian's every day
Kevin was admitted to the Prince of Peace in 2019 after profiling their home. He is currently in Grade two. He is a friendly and determined child.
